Vaccinium corymbosum ‘Patriot’ Bushy, upright, deciduous shrub with excellent cold hardiness. Blooms have a gorgeous pink blush and give way to very large, slightly tangy dark blue berries. The largest and heaviest yields of any early season type. 'Patriot' has a wider tolerance to soil types and has been shown to thrive in even clay soils. Attractive to pollinators. Beautiful orange, yellow, and bronze fall foliage adds excellent ornamental value. Height 4-6'.
Blueberries require medium to wet, well-drained, acidic soil (4.5 - 5.5) rich in organic material. Even though highbush blueberries are self-fertile and will fruit on their own, they will produce larger and more plentiful crops with other cultivars that bloom at the same time are present to cross-pollinate.
