Evergreen. This fern has two types of fronds; a sterile frond that has flat wavy leaflets and a fertile frond with narrow leaflets. Height 8-18″.

Prefers humusy, rich, medium moisture well drained soil. Tolerates clay and wet soils and heavy shade. Deer and rabbit resistant.
