Near black stems with leaves that are very dark with silver veins emerging early spring. Light periwinkle blue, star shaped flowers. Blooms for a long 4-6 weeks. The foliage turns a rich shade of golden yellow in the fall. Height 24-30".
Amsonia attracts bees and butterflies to the garden. Prefers average, medium well drained soil. Drought tolerant when established. Tolerates clay and loamy moist soils. Deer resistant.
